Updates from Amy

You guys rock!!!! I am so proud of all of you for the work you have put into this show. Yes, of course we still have things to clean up, but everyone who comes to see it is going to be amazed and entertained!

Thank you all so much for being on time and ready to go at 7, and thank you for reading the blog carefully enough to get some candy last night! BTW--many of you seem to not like green eggs and ham.

No rehearsal on Valentine's Day--Yay! (Look I know it wasn't so important to everyone, but some of us really want to have the evening free! :)

We do have a lot of notes to go over from last night's run-through and production team meeting--some I will post here and some we will go over at rehearsal.

Makeup Notes:
Everyone: Foundation, eyeliner (does not have to be "stage" makeup--regular stuff will do)

Cat: Next Thursday we would like to try white face, black nose, black eyebrows on you and see what we think
T1/2: White face
Bird Girls: Glamour, glittery, bright eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, Egyptian eyes
Mayzie: Same as Bird Girls only more so--ridiculous gaudy
Animals: Each animal, including monkeys, will have animal face. If you are a jungle animal, you will be the same type of animal in the circus.
Whos: pink blush, light pink lips, powder--look like dolls; If a Who is in the circus, he/she will be a clown in the circus.
Mrs. Mayor: bright red lips
General: just basics
Vlad: Mustache--handlebar, evil--we need to get this for you
Gertrude: simple, like the Whos
Horton: no extra makeup
Sour Kangaroo: Diva, More glam than Gertrude, but less than Bird Girls, purple where possible
Young Kangaroo: muted version of Sour Kangaroo
Yertle/Grinch: Green, Yertle will wear judge's wig

Footwear: No tennis shoes, you should wear jazz or character shoes if you have them. If not, before you go buy something, you can bring what you'd like to wear to Josh for approval. The General should wear boots if possible, and the Mayor should wear dress shoes. We don't want you to have to buy something--so talk to us before you do so.

On Sunday, Feb. 19th, we will be loading into the Berry Center, we think starting at 1 pm, and we need all hands on deck for this--adults and responsible teens only, please. Particularly, we need men who can lift and one or two agile people not afraid to climb a ladder and position lights. Please let me know if you can do the "ladder monkey" role.

Tomorrow, Thursday, we will be working vocals. Please come prepared to take notes and, if you want to, record your part for practice at home.

Thank you all again for everything you are putting into the show. I'm having a blast and I hope you are too!
Love you guys!
Amy
(PS Cat in the Hat sticker tomorrow for anyone who tells me that the General needs to learn his lines.)
