Here are a couple notes from last night. Please read both this, and the previous post from Amy.
As a general rule, move everything downstage at least 5 feet. You are all so far upstage, and most of the scenes, you don't have to be. Don't be afraid to step onto the apron. The apron is your friend.
Be quiet offstage. Hopefully, all of your mics will get turned off when they are supposed to. But, in case they don't get turned off right away, please do not walk off-stage and immediately start talking.
Be animated! In every scene, you should have animated facial expressions. This is Seuss. You are doing great at this. This is just a reminder.
Remember, every scene you are on stage, focus your attention to where the "action" is. You are helping the audience to know where they should be focusing their attention.
Don't be in the wings, uness you are about to come on-stage.
In the Circus scene, make sure you fill up the stage. Don't just stay on the sides.
Gertrude - At the end of people versus horton the elephant, stay downstage for your line "They've proved they are persons no matter how small." We miss this line almost everytime we run this scene.
You are all doing a great job and I am so proud of each and every one of you. keep up the good work.
